ROMA – ISAAC project partners met on July the 4th in the CNR Headquarter in Rome (Increasing Social Awareness and Acceptance of biogas e biomethane) in order to take stock of the situation and analyze the activities carried out.

The main goal of the project, coordinated by AzzeroCO2, is to fight against non technological barriers and increase knowledge and acceptance of italian citizens on biogas and biomethane topics. Italy in fact is the second european producer of biogas, a source with an enormous potential, but italian citizens often fight against it.

Partnership is composed, apart of the coordinator azzero, of two institutes of the CNR (Institute of Atmospheric Pollution Research and Research Institute on Sustainable Economic Growth), Legambiente, CIB (Italian Consortium for Biogas and Gasification) and Chimica Verde Bionet.

The project will last 3 years, including events and demonstrations in order to make comprehension of economical and environmental benefits of biogas and biomethane plants easier. The events will include meetings with citizens, activities in the schools, workshop with farmers and public administrators.
