It starts with meetings for citizens, local administrators, farmers and entrepreneurs
Putignano, Eboli, Andria, Rome. Four dates to start the “core” activities of ISAAC project, involving active and interested citizen, local administrators, farmers, entrepreneurs, or simply curious people, with the scope of increasing awareness and social acceptance on biogas and biomethane, renewable energy sources of enormous potential, that unfortunately are hampered by a series of intangible bus still very concrete barriers.
Four appointments to explain how biogas and biomethane can become a sustainable resource, the bio-fuel that can give an impulse to Italy with economic benefits and positive environmental impact. To explain to the population that, if well done, biogas and biomethane can trigger the local economy with shared and redistributed advantages.
The tour starts in Putignano (Ba), on Wednesday, May 17th, with an event titled “Waste Management – on and beyond the bell tower”, which will feature prominent national and local representatives of Legambiente, project partners, along with Green City project. Beppe Croce, Legambiente National Agriculture Manager, will present the project and its potential.
On Friday, May 19, ISAAC will be in Eboli (Sa), with the technical workshop “Biomethane from farms and agricultural residues – Projects and proposals for Campania”, focussed on ISAAC project and its potential local developments.
Next 25 May the first Participation Process will start in Andria, as foreseen by ISAAC project; It will be a concrete possibility for citizens to influence the outcomes of the plans and procedures affecting their territory. In the specific case, this is a consultation process where citizens and stakeholders will be asked to express their positions on biogas / biomethane and on specific projects, assessing pros and cons after a special path based on listening and discussion of experts or interested people; it will be supervised by impartial communication experts. It will last between 5 and 11 months.
Finally, from June 20 to 22, ISAAC will move to Rome, for the event “EcoForum – the Circular Waste Economy”, organized by Legambiente with “La Nuova Ecologia” and the Kyoto Club, with a focus is on ISAAC project.
